The leg narrows from the knee and finishes clear of the ankle, so the hem sits on the shoe instead of breaking over it. The front of the waistband is flat and carries belt loops, and the back half is elasticated, which is why it fastens like a tailored trouser but pulls on like a soft one. Two slant pockets at the hip, and a plain hem with no turn-up.
